Contributions are welcome. Keep pull requests focused and include tests for
behavior changes.

Before you open a pull request, run:

   ruff check src tests
   pytest -q

For security issues, follow the guidance in the ``SECURITY.md`` file at the repository
root instead of opening a public issue.
